| I have been maintaining this site since 1999. The main feature of the site are computer generated ratings for horse racing in the UK. I wrote the computer program which generates the ratings, in my spare time, around 1990. I started putting the ratings on the internet because it was an easy way for me to make the ratings available to a some people who used them but had to get them directly from me, by phone or fax. I have never advertised the site, but it has become fairly popular over time. Over time, I have added quite a lot of pages to the site. There is now a lot of historical data on the site, indicating how the ratings have performed over the years. Some people think that the ratings must take a long time to generate, but the process is actually quite quick. The computer program which calculates the ratings only takes a few minutes to run. I maintain a database of past horse race results which the program uses to perform its calculations. Apart from keeping the results database up-to-date, I don't do much. There is no human input into the ratings, everything is calculated by the computer program from information in the results database. I am not a professional gambler, I am a professional computer programmer. My first interest is in computers and statistics rather than horse racing. I have made a profit from betting on horses every year since 1990, but I have never bet in the sort of amounts necessary to make a living from gambling. I do not 'eat, drink and sleep' horse racing - there are many people who follow the sport much more closely than I do. I hope that you find the site interesting and useful. I am interested in any comments you may have about the site.
